Hickory Hill Farms: A Five-Generation Legacy
The Meissner family's dairy farming tradition began in the 1890s with William Meissner in Sussex, Wisconsin. In 1929, his son Fredrick joined the business, and together they transitioned from milking in cans to a bulk tank.
In 1958, Fredrick's son Daniel joined the partnership, and they expanded the herd to 100 cows milked in a stanchion barn. In 1982, The Meissner family incorporated Hickory Hill Farms and began milking 250 cows in an 18-stall Triagon.
In 2002, Hickory Hill Farms moved to Hospers, Iowa, where it is now run by the fifth generation. Steve and his father Scott are the day-to-day operators of the farm, which milks 4,000 cows in a double 32 parlor.
Over the years, the Meissners have committed to using the latest technology and resources to produce high-quality milk while protecting the environment and providing a positive way of life for their employees. They are proud to be a family-owned and operated dairy farm for over 130 years.
